A couple of minutes. Signing up creates a family with sensible defaults and a placeholder child already in it. Name the child, invite the other adults, and add tomorrow's pick-up - that's the setup.

No. There's no app store and nothing to install. You open app.orlea.co in your browser, and if you want it to behave like an app you can add it to your home screen in about fifteen seconds. After that it opens full screen with no browser bars.

No. Assign an event to someone and they get a real calendar invite - the proper kind that lands in Google or Apple Calendar as an event they can accept. Your partner never has to open Orlea if they don't want to.

You can also subscribe to a feed for the whole family, or one per child, in any app that reads a calendar URL.

Orlea never holds anyone's login for another service and never writes to anyone else's calendar.

Yes. There are three roles. Primary caregivers run the family and manage members and invitations. Members do the day-to-day - events, meals, recipes, packing and shopping. View-and-tick sees everything and can tick off packing and shopping items, and edit nothing.

That last one is the one people ask for: enough for someone to pack the bag or do the shop, and no more.

You send a link. Invites are single-use, they expire, and you can revoke them. Each calendar feed has its own link you can rotate if it ever gets shared more widely than you meant.

Yes - that's the part most shared calendars get wrong. Every event records both who it's about and who's covering it, as two separate things, and you can filter by either. One tap shows you the week for one child, or the week for you.

It asks whether you mean just that one or every occurrence. Repeating events also share one packing list across their occurrences, so swimming kit is set up once rather than every week.

You can type a recipe, paste the text off a website, or drop in a URL. Orlea drafts a structured recipe from it and shows you exactly what it came up with before anything saves - you review it, it doesn't just appear.

Your recipes are not sent to an AI provider. Orlea reads them on its own servers, which is why a line it cannot make sense of is still saved exactly as you typed it. Some other parts of Orlea do use AI - our privacy policy lists which, and what gets sent.

It merges duplicates by what the thing actually is and adds up what can be added. Where it knows the density it will turn cups into grams. Where it doesn't, it says so rather than guessing, and every line shows which recipes wanted it.

Lists are ordered by how you walk your shop, and that ordering learns - per shop, because your two supermarkets aren't laid out the same. Two people in the same shop see each other's ticks live.

Not currently. Orlea needs a connection, including when it's added to your home screen. The upside is there's nothing to update - you always have the current version.
